Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Analyst, Service Inventory Planner & Buyer. The Analyst, Service Inventory Planner & Buyer is responsible for ensuring the right service parts are available across the SAI network to support uptime, field service readiness, and customer satisfaction. This role manages service inventory planning, forecasting, replenishment, sourcing, and supply risk mitigation for all Sysmex supported product lines.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across Customer Care, Technical Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Distribution, and Finance. The Planner ensures inventory levels are optimized to meet service performance expectations while supporting company financial targets for inventory turns and asset management. An accomplished Manager, SIC will demonstrate all the characteristics that align with Sysmex core values including excellent customer focus and communications skills, great teamwork, and individual responsibility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Inventory Planning & Forecasting
  • Lead the execution of the service inventory planning process for all Sysmex product lines across SAI.
  • Perform regular reviews of inventory levels to ensure appropriate stock is maintained and initiate replenishment or stock transfers as needed.
  • Execute monthly part‑level forecasting, adjusting for changes in demand, failure rates, and product lifecycle stage. 
  1. Purchasing & Supplier Management
  • Create and manage purchase orders with internal and external vendors (domestic and international).
  • Conduct regular follow‑ups on open and past‑due POs to ensure timely supply.
  • Participate in supplier business reviews as the planning representative. 
  1. Supply Risk Mitigation
  • Work closely with Technical Product Management, Manufacturing, and Procurement to identify and mitigate supply risks.
  • Support stable supply during product launches, engineering changes, and end‑of‑life transitions. 
  1. Operational Execution
  • Perform IFS Metrix to SAP reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve ZMET invoice errors.
  • Create proforma documents for international shipments.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies by analyzing transaction history and identifying root causes. 
  1. Reporting & KPI Management
  • Define and track operational and financial KPIs related to service inventory.
  • Prepare monthly reports with insights, trends, risks, and recommendations. 
  1. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate introduction of new service parts for product launches and engineering changes.
  • Support Customer Care, Field Service, and technical teams with inventory‑related inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and lifecycle management activities. 
  1. Miscellaneous duties
  • Identify training needs for Customer Care Operations and Field Service Engineers
  • Support customer account management tasks ensuring timely issue resolution
  • Promote quality customer service to strengthen customer and field team relationships
  • Represent Sysmex America, Inc. as a leader in the diagnostic market
  • Promote effective, positive and productive communication and teamwork between all Sysmex personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Percentage of Travel: 0 - 5%

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years required experience in inventory management and demand, supply planning or comparable, which may include experience in the Armed Forces. Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in business or supply chain preferred.
  • APICS/IBF certification preferred

  • Knowledge of service inventory management, inventory analysis and statistical forecast techniques and procedures

  • Exceptional communication skills with excellent written and oral presentation capabilities. Spanish / Portuguese or French fluency is a plus.

  • Experience with SAP and IFS Metrix is preferred, experience with Microsoft office products (incl. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), and visualization software (Power BI, Tableau Etc.)

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority

  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

The salary range for this role is $59,290 to $93,170. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package for this position also includes a choice of health care plan (medical, vision, and dental insurance), an annual incentive bonus, paid time off, parental leave, bereavement leave and a 401(K) for all eligible employees.
