Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Desktop Associate Technician. The Desktop Associate Technician is responsible to ensure that the SYSMEX associates corporate equipment and communication systems are working properly. Issues can be submitted via the IT website. The Technician will also work on extra System and IT projects time permitting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first level phone, email and onsite support to local and remote company employees on hardware and software issues. The ability to communicate with and assist individuals with varying levels of computer expertise.
  2. Provide application support solutions on industry standard applications (MS Office, Antivirus, etc) and company specific software, such as Metrix and Pivotal.
  3. The ability to install and document new application software, “hot fixes” and patches. Ability to setup standard desktop images.
  4. Ability to comprehend, configure and correct company client desktop environment (Windows XP & 7, MS Office, HP). The ability to diagnose, configure, and correct Windows XP & 7 OS issues.
  5. Understand the relationships in a Windows Client/Server, LAN/WAN based environment
  6. Coordinate and provide instructional support for third party solutions or contractors at remote locations.
  7. Provide technical support to on-site labs, i.e. wiring Assay lab, ordering, installing, and configuring lab computers. Troubleshooting lab connectivity problems
  8. Ensure network availability and security at SCA, SIA, and SLA.
  9. Manage ISO Shipping / Receiving Process
  10. Other duties and special projects as may be assigned

Physical Risk: Regular exposure to extreme risk that requires special training with specified precautions or instructions for emergency actions.

 

Physical Demands: Heavy physical activity. Routine handling of objects more than 50 pounds. May require periods of substantial discomforts due to excessive noise, dust, and/or other conditions.

 

Percentage of Travel: 10-20%

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree preferred (or work related experience).
  • A+ Certification.
  • Windows XP & 7 OS, SQL Server experience, Knowledge of desktop imaging, experience in phone and desktop support.

 

The hourly pay range for this role is $18.51 to $29.09, along with an overtime pay. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
